World’s Best Endurance Barefooters to compete at Footstock

Reigning World Overall Champ David Small of England getting ready to take on Kyle Rau of Indiana.

It’s been almost two years since Peter Fleck held the WBC National Figure Eight Open Championship Trophy. August 20, he hopes to do it for a record tenth time, a mark that may never be eclipsed.

According to Tournament Director, Gary Mueller, the “Iron Man” of endurance barefooting, Fleck, is in the “best shape of his life,” and will instantly be one of the favorites along with last year’s champ, Jon DeBelak (Wisconsin), World Overall Champion, David Small (England) and 2016 runner-up Chad Mietz (Wisconsin). Michigan’s Brad Pylman, along with Canada’s Wayne King, Luke Bruckner (Wisconsin) and Crandon’s own Greg Fatla are also expected to make a strong push for their first Open titles.
