Record crowds attend Florence County Fair

For the first time in recent memory, the parking lot was completely full on Saturday at the 114th annual Florence County Fair. Cars lined County N, parked in the ditch and were even parked as far as the Commonwealth Cemetery.

“Last year was the first year that we did admission per person rather than parking,” said Fair Board member Jessica Klumpp. “Friday night’s attendance was almost double what it was in 2016. Saturday’s attendance appeared to be down a bit from last year. However, we only keep track of new admission passes per day. So I can’t tell you how many people came in Saturday and Sunday who already had a paid admission pass from a previous day.”

People from all over the area came out to experience the Mud Bog, the fair food, tractor and horse pulls and all the other events and activities our fair has to offer.

“We have so much to be proud of at our little fair,” said Florence County Board Chair Jeanette Bomberg.
