At its monthly meeting on Monday night, the Niagara School Board was advised of federal funding that the district will soon receive.

Through the Small Rural School Achievement (SRSA) program, as well as the Rural Low Income Schools program (RLIS), both federally funded entities, $53,000 will be given to the district.

“Because we are over an hour away from Marinette, we are considered urban territory,” explained Nate Burklund, superintendent. “That distance increased our funding from $7,400 to $53,000.”
