Wendel Architectural and Engineering gets nod for courthouse project

The Forest County Executive Committee met on Monday morning to choose an architectural and engineering firm for the renovation of the courthouse campus. According to Kurt Berner, from the Samuels Group, who was hired to facilitate the hiring process only the renovation of the existing courthouse was discussed last week in closed session.
“Renovation of the current courthouse is the number one priority,” said Board Chairman Paul Millan.
The committee decided to hire Wendel Architectural and Engineering of Eau Claire. They were competing against the firms of Porter and Lawson of Madison, and Venture/Architects of Milwaukee.
The committee was given approval to hire a firm for the programming and schematic design last November during their County Board meeting, according to Berner.
