New utility building a go

Sarah Giddings

The Florence Utility Commission will have a new headquarters soon. Plans have been in the works for the past several months for an updated and expanded utility building at an approximate cost of $2 million.

The need for a new building has been brought up over the last several years, but plans were solidified in June of 2017, when the Town of Florence Board agreed to support financing of a new building. At a meeting this week, the board approved the issuance and sale of $2 million in General Obligation bonds to be repaid over the next 20 years.
