Patti Kirker’s failure to appear in Forest County Circuit Court for her sentencing hearing on May 31 resulted in a nationwide warrant being issued for her arrest. She was found guilty following a jury trail in March of five felony drug charges. She was facing up to a sixty-year sentence. Against the wishes of the District Attorney Chuck Simono, Judge Neilson released Kirker on a $1000 bond.
Forest County Sheriff John Dennee said Kirker was apprehended by customs and border protection officers near Laredo, Texas. She was taken to the Webb County Jail, where she was released under the Webb County pre-trial services program.
