Despite the rainy weather, turnout for the Florence County Sheriff’s Office K9 fundraiser on Saturday at the Florence dog park was successful enough to raise $2,123.25 towards the purchase of the county’s first-ever police dog.

The event, sponsored by Nose to Tail Animal Hospital in Florence, featured activities for canines, including bobbing for hot dogs, trying out the new agility course equipment donated by Nose to Tail, and eating ice cream. The event also featured raffle prizes and police dog demonstrations by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.

Dr. Kim VanLaarhoven, veterinarian and owner of Nose to Tail Animal Hospital, organized the day’s activities.
