Forever Young Scholarship a tribute to Raspor and Burrows

The community suffered a tragedy last summer when 16-year-olds Paige Raspor and Isabella (Izzy) Burrows passed away in a car accident while travelling to their summer job. The families of the teens have come up with a way to honor the girls and also contribute the community.

“In an effort to keep our girls’ memories alive and bring light as they would have wanted, we began fundraising for their school. Each year two graduates will receive a $500 scholarship. They will be awarded in two categories: one in athletics and one in the arts,” said Rhonda Raspor, mother of Paige.

On September 7, the families will be hosting an ATV poker run at the Florence fairgrounds. There will be raffles, music and food. Organizers are asking if local businesses would like to contribute to the event by donating raffle items, baskets or cash. Those interested may contact Rhonda at 715-625-5004, email rasporr@yahoo.com or send checks made out to Forever Young Scholarship to Florence School, ATTN: Superintendent Ben, 425 Olive Ave. Florence, WI 54121.

“We thank you in advance for your consideration. This event was inspired by our girls love for playing games, both board and cards. They loved four-wheeling and their smiles lit up the room. It is our hope your organization can help us achieve our goal,” said Raspor.
