Historic fire truck to be revealed this weekend

Come to see a bit of history restored this weekend at the unveiling of the newly rebuilt 1917-1918 Town of Florence fire truck. The Florence County Historical Society along with the Town of Florence and Florence Volunteer Firemen will present the fully refurbished fire truck on Sunday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at the Encore on Central.

Originally purchased in 1917, The Town of Florence still owns the Ford truck. It was eventually put in storage as the town added more advanced fire trucks to their fleet. It has come out of hiding on a few occasions for celebrations such as the famous Florence Labor Day parades.
