The Florence High School building is about to get a $14.5 million facelift.

Additionally, upgrades for the safety of students, staff and the community have progressed through a separate renovation of the parking lot.

According to Brandon Jerue, Florence High School principal, renovations to the school’s parking lot have already begun.

“There will be no parking on the school side of the guard rail, which will eliminate people driving through our parking lot to avoid the stop sign,” said Jerue. “The buses will be able to load and unload our students without having vehicle access to that area.”
