The Crandon High School auditorium quickly filled to capacity at 7 p.m. Wednesday January 17 as Forest County residents gathered for the second in a series of informational meetings about the proposed renovation or removal of the 1909 courthouse. A representative from The Samuels Group was there to discuss two proposals for the future of the Forest County courthouse.
The Samuels Group consultants, which assists with new construction, renovations, budget and schedule analysis, pre-construction services, feasibility, funding and on-site analysis, was selected by the county to examine the feasibility of courthouse, law enforcement and social services center expansion. According to their analysis, a property a tax hike of about $100 per $100,000 in land value, would pay for the project, over a 20-year span.
