Resch receives state award
Crandon resident and retired Crandon school teacher Harold Resch was honored at the 2018 Wisconsin Lakes Partnership Convention in Stevens Point. He was granted the Stewardship Award in the Educator category for volunteer work that he has faithfully done for Forest County Association of Lakes (FCAL) in conjunction with Forest County Schools.
Harold has organized the annual FCAL essay contest that is offered to 5th and 6th graders in Crandon, Laona and Wabeno elementary schools. He also organizes and teaches at Environmental Day on the shores of Lake Metonga every fall. Environmental Day is offered to Crandon, Laona and Crandon High School science classes through FCAL every fall with help from high school teachers, Northern Lake Service, Potowatomi, Sokaogon and DNR representatives.
