Long Lake man spends week in jail on battery conviction

A Long Lake man was sentenced to seven days in jail in Florence County court on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Jaden Kenneth Streu, 21, appeared in court with his attorney Roy Polich, and the court dismissed the misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct against Streu and reduced the felony charge of substantial battery with intent to do bodily harm to a misdemeanor, pursuant to a plea agreement reached by the parties.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Streu was ordered to spend seven days in jail, one year probation, serve 40 hours of community service, attend anger management counseling, and pay $5,900 in restitution to John Lord, the bar owner.
